Welcome to the 7th season of the MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra, proudly featuring a 70-member orchestra comprised of MiraCosta students and faculty, community members, and professional musicians, led by music director and MCC instructor, Branden Muresan.
Since its birth in 2010, our orchestra has been a vibrant component of the Performing Arts program at MiraCosta College, and an enthusiastic contributor to cultural life in North San Diego County. Our concerts of familiar, challenging and new musical works often feature distinguished soloists and choral groups.
Our 2017-2018 season will offer exciting musical experiences for all ages. Please share it with us and join our growing audience of music lovers.

The MiraCosta Symphony Orchestra will perform the massive work for full orchestra by Gustav Holst, The Planets, Op. 32. This masterwork is one of the greatest known compositions of the 20th century and has been featured in countless movies, television shows and commercials. Please join us for this unique orchestral experience that includes a multimedia presentation. We will also present Petite Suite de Concert, by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. All music lovers and stargazers are welcome!

MiraCosta College Choirs & Symphony Orchestra
Celebrate the season with the MiraCosta College choirs and symphony orchestra as we present two nights of music for the season. This year, the Wednesday night concert will be held at California Center for the Arts, Escondido, and the Thursday night concert will be held at MiraCosta in The Concert Hall. The stage will be set to entertain all ages, and audiences will enjoy a variety of music from Handel's Messiah to favorite holiday classics. This 75-minute concert is performed with no intermission. Directed by Arlie Langager and Branden Muresan.
