Christy Coobatis

Mr. Christy Coobatis is a passionate music educator who has taught at University of California at Irvine, Irvine Valley College, Saddleback College, Mission College, Cogswell Polytechnical College and MiraCosta College.

He has co-written a 1.2 million dollar grant to create the South Bay Regional Multimedia Training Facility in Silicon Valley and functioned as “point person” for the construction of two 15 million dollar buildings.  Christy has lectured at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention, the Audio Engineering Society Convention, National Association of Music Merchants Convention, the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco and the International College of Music in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

His music has earned Academy Award Consideration in several NBC Movies of the Week and has been performed on HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and countless live performances, films, commercials, radio shows and concerts.

Professor Coobatis teaches all phases of Music Technology, History of Western Music, Guitar, Songwriting and Rock History.

He is a guitarist, keyboardist and composer who lives what he teaches. He strives to make every class a unique learning experience and to provide the tools to help students towards gaining careers in Music.
