Studio Policy

MIRACOSTA COLLEGE MUSIC STUDIO USE POLICY – Fall  2017

Studio time is reserved for students to practice and perfect the skills that have been taught during class and to complete their class assignments. Instructors will monitor projects to evaluate student progress.

Studio sessions will OPEN for reserving sessions Sept. 5 through Dec. 12

The Studios will be CLOSED on the following dates:

Nov. 10 Veterans Day

Nov. 23,24 Thanksgiving

 

Dec. 13  Studios are Closed for the Semester

To Book a Studio Session:

1. To Check to see if there is a session available go to the Music Website: music.miracosta.edu
2. Click on ‘Student’ at left
3. Then ‘Studio Calendar
4. Select ‘Studio A Calendar’ or ‘Studio B Calendar
5. NOTE: Look for time slots that are specified for your class – i.e. RA III, etc.
*the session is already booked if you see a name in the box…
6. Find an open time slot on the calendar and e-mail Jim McKinley to book you in that slot by clicking on ‘Studio Request Form

Filling Out the Studio Request Form:

1. If you are signing up as a team, please list all the names of all members of the team on the request form.
2. Session Times include Set up, Recording/Mixing, Finalizing/Saving Projects, and Clean up.

4. Keep a personal record of your time and date of your session.

Materials: Suggested materials to make your session run smoother:
Audio Tapes: Firewire Drive USB DriveCDR, or DAT as needed.
Headphones, your own textbooks and notebooks, writing utensils (SHARPIE).
A printout of your assignment and your equipment request list.

After Your Session: · Save and finalize project on YOUR personal storage device – Failure to do so may mean your data will be wiped off the hard drive.
 Zero out Console (Clear the settings of the knobs and faders)
Clean up cables, stands, gobos, and any instruments/amps.

PARKING

Any vehicle parked in a student lot on weekdays without a permit will be subject to a parking citation. Sundays are ok for parking without a permit except for Staff spaces.

NO FOOD OR DRINK inside Control Rooms or Studios.

Studio B – RA III   5:00pm – 9:00pm
